Jaejun Yu is Professor of Physics at Seoul National University, where he previously served as Dean of the College of Natural Sciences. His research applies theoretical and computational methods to the electronic and magnetic properties of transition metal oxides and related materials, with recent work centered on topological band structures in iridium oxides and chalcogenides, two-dimensional materials with Chern and fractional Chern insulator characteristics, and defect engineering in metal oxides for p-type semiconductors and catalysis. He is also active in science education, having developed approaches to teaching physics to non-science majors, and brings extensive experience in university administration and research management.
